“There are numerous places in the vicinity of Santa Cruz that offer many attractions to the tourist or pleasure-seeker. We were told not to leave for good, until we had made a visit to the ‘big tree grove,’ only seven miles distant, and easily reached by the Santa Cruz and Felton narrow gauge railroad, or we should miss one of the ‘sights’ worth seeing.”
